The above match was continued on the Heretaunga cricket ground on Saturday, the local team, who had lost two wickets for five runs on the preceding day's play resuming their innings. G. " Cotterill and Tomoana made a capital stand, and 85 was registered before the third wicket fell, while another partnership between Lewis and Gore brought the total up to 172 for the loss of five wickets. The whole team, however was out for 200, the chief scorer being Extras with 44. The United team in their second innings have made 34 without losing a wicket. The above match was concluded on the Recreation Ground on Saturday, the Scinde team proving victorious by 101 runs with an innings to spare. Playing without the services of Lusk (in both) and C. H. Cato (in the second innings) the United put up 101 and 117—Macassey 25 and 50, Young 37, Reaney 14 and 28—making their grand total 218, as against the 349 of their opponents at their first attempt. Dent took six wickets for 31 in the first innings and three for 56 in the second. 4» TOMOANA V. COUNTY JUNIORS. The above match was concluded on the Heretaunga ground on Saturday. Batting four men short, the County team were all out for 152. Tomoana, after losing their first wicket easily, made short work of the bowling, and Owen and Hobbs had put on 131 between tnem before the second wicket fell, Owen being caught and bowled just before the winning hit was made. The match thus ended in a win for Tomoana by eight wickets. Hobb3 and Owen played capital cricket, though both gave a chance or two, which was refused by the considerate field. This will almost certinly give Tomoana the junior premiership for the season. The following are the scores J County Junioes.
