ALIWAL NORTH INVESTED. ACCIDENT TO TROOP SHIP. (Received Nov. 11, 10.48 a.m.} Durban, November 10. An official report from Ladysmith Biites that the bombardment was harmless. Under a flag of truce the Boers transferred tue refugees. They fired upon the white Hig before the British had left neutral ground. The entrenchments at Ladysmith are being daily strengthened. Cape Town, November 10. A Free State Commando has in vested Aliffal North. The Free Staters have captured Venterstaad, a small township twenty miles south of Betbulie. The transport Persia, with a squadron of the 6th Dragoons aboard, <« route to South Africa, broke her shaft near Cape Verde and drifted towards the precipitous roek3. The tug Blazer, mmued by the officers of the British cruiser Diadem, opportunely appeared and towed the Persia to St. Vincent for repairs. London, November 10. The Red Cross Association has accepted the Duke of Newcastle's offer to equip a hospital ship for which the Princess of Wales is raising funds. (Per Press Association). Wangantii, November 10. The Mayor to day cabled to Sir Alfred Milner the third £IOO raised here on behalf of the Transvaal relief fund. Subscriptions are still coming in.
