When the Pukaki passed the Aorangi every one on deck crossed over to watch the big steamer leaving. The was left on the starboard side by herself, and when rhe mother re-crossed the deck her daughter had disappeared. She now thinks that her beirg in a poor state of health, in a fit of temporarv unreason threw herself overboard while no one was looking.
