A School Destroyed.

''Per Press Association.) Auckland, Dec. 80. Particular.-; regarding the tire at the Chevalier public schoolhouse yesterday afternoon, sbovv the school was used »p to last Friday afternoon, when it closed for the holidays. The buildings were then locked and everything left apparently safe. Mrs Emily Buller, who had charge of the keys, noticed smoke issuing from the roof of fhe school, and raised the alarm. Mr J. A. M'Kinley,a farmer, entered the burning building and saved two desks and a form. The building was totally destroyed. Mr R. J. Parry, head teacher .of the school, is now oil a visit to Tauranga. The building is uninsured. The Government do not insure school buildings in the colony, taking the risk themselves.
