Ten days ago the licensee of the Ship Hotel was robbed of £l6 from the clothes in his bedroom. A lodger named Casey was arrested for the crime, but no evidence was available and he was discharged last Monday. He was again arrested last night at St Andrews for creating a disturbance, and Constable Crawford recovered a plant made by the prisoner comprising part of the money stolen from the Ship. Some of thenotes were identified by the licensee. His mate had a bundle of skeleton keys. Both were remanded on these charges, and each were sentenced to three months for creating a disturbance.
