Wreck of a Barque.

(Per Press Association.)

Auckland, Dec. 21

News from the Eastern Pacific states that the British barque Blairlogie was totally wrecked on the Island of Matahira, the most northerly of the Paumoto Group, on the night of November 22nd. Nothing whatever was saved from the wreck, and the whole of the ship's papers were lost in the lifeboat, which was carried away from the vessel. At Pepete the crew are being cared for by Mr R. T. Simons, the British Consul. The Blairlogie was a comparatively new vessel, having only been launched about three years ago. She was a steel vessel of 1525 tons, owned in Glasgow, Scotland.
