Wesleyan Sunday School.

ANNIVERSARY ENTERTAIMENT

The anniversary entertainment in connection with the above Sunday School was held in the Wesleyan Church, Hastings, last evening. There was, on account of other attractions, only a moderate attendance. The church was tastefully decorated with evergeers. The children, to the number of about a hundred, were arrayed on the platform, all dressed in their best attire. The entertainment opened with a chorus from the children, entitled " Singing Together," which was rendered very nicely, and showed that the children had been well trained. Mr Morris then led in prayer. The following programme was gone through : —lnstrumental duet, Master and Miss Marbrook ; chorus, " Chiming Bells" ; recitation, Miss Knight ; chorus, " The Sunday School Army" ; violin solo, Miss Bain ; (this lady is a new arrival from Canterbury, and she gave the audience a good exhibition of music) ; chorus, " A Noble Aim short address, Mr Morris ; chorus, " Away to the Woods song, Mrs lieighway (whose voice was heard to perfection; she was accompained in the chorus by Miss Tressider) ; chorus, " Gentle Words recitation, Master Ivnight ; chorus, " Lovest Thou Me." Mr Marten then proposed a hearty vote of thanks to those who had assisted to make the anniversary a success. This was carried by acclamation. The closing chorus was, " Marching On." The proceedings were brought to a close with the Doxology.
