THE COLONIAL FORCES.
AND THEIR RIFLES. (Per Press Association.—Copyriyht.) London, Dec. 6. In connection with the proposal of the Imperial authorities to convert or exchange the rifles used by the colonial forces, so as to secure the uniformity of arms throughout the Empire, the British Army and Navy Gazette warns Australia not to accept any Government- offer of single-loading Martini instead of magazine rifles, and states that Canada has already rejected 40,000 rifles of this type.
