THE DREYFUS CASE.

STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF WAR. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received Dec., 6 9.45 a.m.) Paris, December 5. General Billot, French Minister of War, made a statement in the Chamber with reference to Captain Dreyfus' case. He said that Captain Dreyfus was fairly tried and concdemned in his soul and conscience. As Soldier-in-Chief of the Army at the time, he said he regarded the sentence as a just one. He announced that the enquiry ordered will be made into the charges brought by Captain Dreyfus' brother against Count Esterhazy, Commandant of the Artillery, who declared that he had been concerned in the authorship of the incriminating documents produced at the trial. The Chamber, by a majority of 172, approved the statement of the Minister of War.
