Lord Nelson's old flagship the Foudroyant, which was badlydamaged through going ashore at Blackpool in June last, has been completely broken up at South port in a gale which had been raging on the north-west coast, The Foudroyant was purchased some time ago and fitted up at a cost of £20,000 for show j purposes. Sir Walter George Pbillimore, Bart., has been appointed to succeed Sir H. Pollock as one of the judges of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court of Justice. After a search of seven years Mr James Bonwick, the Australian historian, has discovered the grave of Admiral Sir Arthur Phillip, first Governor of New South Wales, at Bath. Major-General Sir Bevan Edwards, in a letter to the Times, says Great Britain is without an army reserve. The long service system, he adds, supplies men instead of boys. It has been ascertained that the shipment of gunpowder detained at the Thames under the belief that it was to be sent to the Indian frontier for the tribesmen is intended for Abyssinia. Ottawa, Nov. 30. The Beduction in the Canadian postage rates to 3 cents per oz. will involve a loss of £IO,OOO yearly. Sydney, Nov. 30. Under order of the Equity Court two leading medical gentlemen examined Cressweli, who is alleged to be the real Sir Roger Tiehborne. What the result of tne examination is has not been disclosed. The report has been forwarded to the Judge in Equtiy. Melbourne, Nov. 30. Albert Beaver, late manager of Falk and Company, jewellery importers, was chrrged at the Court with the larceny of £586, the niouey of the firm, and remanded. It is alleged that his defalcations amount to £9OOO.
