Industrial Association Conference

SOME GOVERNMENT MEASURES CONDEMNED. [By Telegraph.] ' (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This day. A meeting of the Industrial Association, at which the leading manufacturers of Southland, Otago, Canterbury, and Wellington were represented, passed resolutions condemnatory of the Eight Hours Bill and the Masters and Apprentices Bill, especially the latter, they being of the opinion that if these measures were passed as proposed they would be practically unworkable, and seriously affect the industry of the colony. They ask the withdrawal of both Bill as the objects aimed at can be safely left to the Industrial and Conciliation Boards, which should be given a fair trial.
