Thieves at Work.
A CART LOAD OF BOOTS STOLEN.
(By Telegraph.)
(Per Press Association /
Wellington, This day,
Burglars visited the premises of Batkin, tobacconist, Lambton Quay, last night. They broke in the back, but failed to enter the shop owing to a steel lined door. They then went off to Hannah's boot warehouse, a few yards away. There they made off with a cart load of boots. . Several boxes full were piled up at the broken window evidently ready to be taken away.
The thieves must have had a cart waiting but were disturbed before securing all the plunder they intended.
