AUSTRALIAN HORSES.
A DESPATCH FROM THE AGENTGENERAL. (I'cr Press Association. —Copyright.) Sydney, This clay. The Agent-General has been making enquiries amongst buyers of Australian horses with reference to the effect of ciimatised conditions upon them. He has forwarded a number of letters to the Government including one from the Director-General of the Indian army Veterinary Department, which states that lately New Honth Wales horses sent to India have shown signs of unsoundness, ringbone and roaring, which he ascribes to the indiscriminate use of unsound stallions. Apparently this is one of the reasons which induced the Rritish army authorities to purchase Argentine remounts in preference to Australian.
