Grand Lodge of Masons.

THE HALF-YEARLY MEETING. [By Telegraph] (Per Press Association.) Auckland, This day. The half-yearly communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand last night was attended by about 200 brethren. Grandmaster W. Barron of Dunedin presided. The Board of Benevolence report showed £42 to aid distributed during the half year. The Board of General Purposes statement showed a total credit of £2,809 2s 9d, an increase during the half year of £443 lis. Recognition has been received from four other Grand Lodges. Bro. Barron announced that a letter had been received from the secretary of tbe United Grand Lodge of England stating that there was no reason why the recognition® of the New Zealand constitution should not be formally declared after September. 1897. It was resolved that the office of the Grand Lodge be removed to Christchurch in April next.
