The Brook 1 Blarney ... ... ... 2 Dottrel ... ... ... 3 First Blood was scratched. There was some delay at the post, but a good start was affected. Aphony took up the running with Dottrel and New Forest next, with Blarney last. In the straight The Brook came with a rush and won by a length. Time, lmin 32secs. Div., L 25 13s. Puketapu Handicap. Little Billee 1 Stray bird ... ... ... 2 Daphne ... ... ... 3 Harmony was scratched. A good race, the field being in a bunch to the straight, when Little Billee shot out and won by a length. Time, lmin 46secs. Div., L 3 ss. 1 R.C. Handicap. Daredevil ... ... ... 1 St Conon 2 Primula 3 All started. Cueur de Lion was the first to break the line, followed by Pom Pom. St Conon took the lead down the back, and entering the straight looked every inch a winner, when Daredevil came and won by a length. Pom Pom was fourth, Douglas fifth and Coeur de Lion last.
