EULOGY OF THE COLONIES.

(Per Press Association. —Copyright.) London, Oct. 8. The Earl of Lichfield, speaking at a meeting of investors of the Bank of Australasia, said he recognised that with prudent statesmanship the colonies had a great future before them. 'When the colonies federated their stocks would be as high as those of Canada. The visit of the Colonial Premiers and troops had helped to strengthen and develop the volume of trade between the various branches of the Empire and England. He believed Australia's wonderful vitality would soon secure the complete recovery of commercial prosperity among her people, lie felt, however, that independent action on the part of producers was injuring the development of the frozen meat industry.
