(Per Press Association.) Wellington, This day. A big slip came down this morning at the Summit on the Wairarapa line and it will take two or three days to clear away. The passenger traffic will not be seriously interferred with as a train will run to eacli side of the obstruction and passengers and mails will be transferred. The slip took place in a rocky cutting about a mile south of the Summit. The police stables at Mount Cook were destroyed by fire this morning. Two horses belonging to Colonel PolePenton were rescued but three others, the property of the Police Department, were burned to death. One was a thoroughbred, Lissmore, son of the great English sire Codogan. Auckland, This day. A fire at Coromanoel destroyed the premises of Smith (cabinet maker), Collins (blacksmith), Bell (wheelright) and Doan (plumber). Insurances — Smith, United, £SO ; Collins, National, £SO ; Doan, £SO, office unknown. The South British Insurance Companie's reports shows the net revenue for the year to be £224,994 10s 4d. The credit to profit and loss is £32,050 9s 83. The directors recommend a dividend of 2s per share for the last half year, making 3s 6d per share for the year.
