The Harbor Board has accepted the tender of a local firm at £6,000 for excavating papa rock in the inner harbor. The board also decided to write to the Colonial Treasurer asking hnn to enquire why the Bank of New Zealand refused to accept the Board's account. Wellington, This day. At the Wellington Land Board to-day Messrs Stevens and Field, M.II.R.'s, strongly expressed their disapproval of the regulation governing the question of classification of land under the Land Act and said the Board was so bound down by these regulations that they would sooner resign than submit to them. Mr Stevens moved, and Mr Field seconded, that the new survey regulations for the classification of laud be not adopted and that the board make its own regulations. The discussion on the subject was adjourned.
