M ISCELLAN EOU S PAES. By Lanvek. Mr Ormond's <•': eolt Deficr dropped dead on returning home from work yesterday. This morning Mr A. T. Danver.s held a poet uiftrirnt which disclosed the fact that death was due to heart disease. The Catesby—Spring Creek colt Con• spirer arrived here last night in charge of Peters and is located at Maher s stable. He is a li no upstanding looking colt, and can give all the two-year-olds engaged at the meeting points a- f;r as size is concerned, but is very backward in condition. DpjUjgji will ride Multiform, Gallagher will be up on Miss Emmy, Davis on Daunt, ard AVhittaker .on tit Con on for the H.B. Guineas.
TRAINING NOTES.
By Laxcee. The first on the track this morning were Stockviile and Straybird, who did twice round at half pace and the second winding up strongly. Petroline ran twice round finishing the last half mile fast. Victoria Cross put in fast three furlong sprints. The Waterfall—Mystery mare ran two rounds at a strong half pace. Koinbow did a useful working gallop of three rounds. Searchlight did slow work. New Forest and Primula were together for a fast round and then a slow mile. St Con on did slow half pace work for two rounds. Daphne put in sound exercise for three rounds, the last round fast. Nevermore was very fractions and evidently had the best of the boy on him. He did four furlongs at three-quarter pace and went on pulling hard all round before being stopped. Brennan and Dottrell did one J ound at Jialf pace. The Derringer—Nectarine eolt, I'nketoi, Hobart. Pistol Grip. liluno, First Blood, and three of Martin s string did useful work.
Tally-ho did tliree rounds at a solid pace. Haria, Acone, and Miss Funny put m once round at hr.lf pace, brushing over the last three furlongs at racing speed. Day Star did s'ow half pace work. Claudia sprinted for five furlongs, then bad another sprint down the straight on the course proper. Aphony ran a really fast round 011 the plough. Golden Plover. Douglas, ;.nd Lavender galloped twice round, all finishing well. Flaneur did a strong working gallop once round. Tirant d Eau did a fast circuit. "Wakelyn and lluluform did slow half pace work. Tire did twice round at a good sound gallop. Alionora brushed over sis furlongs. Tc Ngahae did slow exercise. Boreas, with Percy White up. put in one slow round aud one half pace, finishing very strong. The filly by Lochlel did slow work on the sand. Cceur de Lion did once round fast. Conspirer put in steady work. Tigress and Royal George were associated in sprinting work. Capon Rouge and Nightingale did cantering exercise.
