fPer Press Association.) Invercakgill, This day. John O'Connel 1 , a married man, an insurance canvasser, was charged at the Police Court to-day with breaking and entering the premises of Alex. Ferguson, watchmaker, on the 28th March and stealing therefrom jewellery to the value of £54 lis, also breaking and entering into Samuel Levy's and stealing goods to the value of £2 2s. Both offences were committed early on a Sunday morning, the shop windows having been apparently broken with a hammer. The matter remained a mystery till a few day ago when Detective Mcllveney and a constable got a clue, with the result that the whole of the stolen property was recovered. The accused was remanded till Saturday.
