MINEOWNERS' CONFERENCE.

MORE TROUBLE AT THE NEWCASTLE MINES. (Per Press Association. —Coptjrhjht.) Sydney, Sept. 25. The conference at Newcastle of mineowners and miners' representatives to discuss the request of the miners that every skip of coal should be weighed, and to talk over the renewal of the general district agreement, proved abortive. On behalf of the owners it was stated that if the miners insisted on their demands respecting weighing the proprietors would have to consider the advisability of closing the colleries. While the owners are of this opinion the "question of a general agreement is now past ail hope.
