THE OPERATIC SOCIETY.
[To The-Editor.] Sir,—l hear on what I used to regard good authority that the Operatic Society has come in for a little windfall and that a few days ago the "manager " received a cheque from a kindred society down south which had borrowed the properties of lolanthe. I have waited for more than a week in the expectation of a dividend, but none has arrived. I think Mr Ryan ought to call his committee together and distribute this money /to rata before the races. Creditors are generally a long sufferinfc-paojila* but they like to be in th€ swim whim a distribution takes place. A slur iseften cast on the reputation of a committee quite undeservedly, but the secretary might clear up an ugly rumor by informing the " sufferers " how the fund is beinj distributed.—l am, &c, A Creditor.
