Dunedin, Sept. 22

An elderlv man named William Alexander committed suicide by shooting himself at Cavershaut this evening. While his wife and family were at tea the man 'went out. and hearing a report in the yard the family rushed out and found Alexander with a large bole of his stomach. He died •beiore medical assistance arrived. The weison used was a one-barrelled pistol,%nd as tfcare was no cap on it the supposition is he used a match to fire oMflfce charge. The man was re-cent-ly ©sehaTge■ 1 from the position of caretaker of a church in Caversbam."
