It is currently reported that the resignation of the Hon J. B. Whyte has been forwarded to the Speaker of the Council. Mr Whyte is iu England, and it is understood that as his leave of absence expires to-day there was no other alternative than resign or that the be deelare-l vacant. probable that both branches of the Legislature after the formal business of to-day will adj onrn till Tuesday, as a mark ot respect to Mr Fish and Major Ropata.

The House will probably adjourn till Tuesday in consequence of Mr Fish's death.
The Hon. .J. B. Whyte, M.L.C., has sent in his resignation. He is now in England and his leave of absence has expired.
