Brisbane, This day. A tragic disaster has occurred at Moretou Bay. A party consisting of Frederick, William, and Harry Slayson, R. M'Cabe, It. M'C'onnell, and Arthur lumber went for a cruise in the 22footer Zenobia. The vessel was struck by a squall at midday ou "Wednesday last when off Cape Mcreton, and the sheet" getting jammed the whole of the occupants were thrown into the water. Kimber swam for the boy, Harry

Slayson, nearly sacrificing his own life. All the party regained the boat. The boy said he wanted to see his mother, and the other occupants lost heart. The Slayson brothers died in lumber's amis within ten minutes of each other. M'Cabe lost his reason and jumped overboard. He was rescued by lumber, but died shortly afterwards. M'Connell also lost his reason, and struck at Kimber with a pocket knife. Four of the occupants were dead by Thursday night. Kimber stuck to the submerged boat, which drifted towards Double Island, three miles from the entrance to Noosa river. Kimher's limbs were swollen and sunburnt. He was slightly delirious, but is now doing well. He clung to the boat all Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Saturday, and Sunday without food or drink.
