Accidents and Fatalities.
[By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 6. Charles Sinclair, while unloading timber from the Westralia, was severely injured on the head and shoulders. The slings gave way and the timber fell on him. He is married, with a large family. At Corambi, New South Wales, the nine-year-old daughter of a selector fell off a log, a distance of six feet, to the ground, and broke her neck. A child aged nine years, son of Mr G, Mitchell, of Stokes's Valley was so severely kicked in the face by a horse on Friday that Dr Purdy bad to put in 11 stitches in sewing up the wound. The boy is now in a precarious condition. A sad accident occurred on Saturday (says the Manawatu Standard) to a young girl named Edith Carter, residing near Shannon, who attended at the Australian Dental Institute, for the purpose of having a number of teeth drawn. With a view to relieving the pain an anesthetic of biclorid of methylene was admihistered by Dr. McCarthy, who took every precaution usual on such occasions, but- unfortunately the young lady succumbed under its influence. Dr. Eeid was at once called in, but was unable to render any assistance as life was quite extinct before ia© arrived#
