THE SWATIS SURRENDERING THEIR ARMS. MURDER OF NATIVE LEVIES. A FORCE TRAVERSES KOHAT PASS. THE MALAGAS RISINGS DUE TO FANATIC MOLLAIIS. (Per Pivss Axr.ocititiun.—Copyriyht.) Calcutta, Sept. 1. Latest Reports from the frontier state that the Swatis are surrendering their arms. A number of rebellious tribesmen murdered and robbed the native levies holding Gazarbundost, a British post in Beloochif'tan. A force of cavalry is pursuing the murderers. A column under Colonel Gordon has safely traversed the Kohat Pass. A force under Lieut-Colonel G. L. R. Richardson, commandant of the 18th Bengal Lancers, proceeds to Kurran and while on the march will leave reinforcements strengthening the Tamona forts. Colonel Blood reports that the defence at Chakdara are insufficient and that the enemy, who are under cover, are able to command the fort. Reports received from Madras state that an outbreak has occurred at Malabar due to fanatic Mollahs, but that the rising is not at present of a serious character.
