A SCURRILOUS COMMENT.

[To The Editor.] Sut,—Every reader of your valuable paper must endorse your remarks in last night's,issue commenting on the scandalous and scurrilous remarks of the Napier Telegraph in referring to the recent assault case heard before Messrs Ellis and Beilby. The comments of the paper 1 eferred to were not only unjustifiable but were not in accordance with truth, and only tended to cast a stigma on honorable gentlemen, which is contemptible in the extreme. I sincerely hope that a severe punishment will be dealt out to those responsible for publishing such a cowardly accusation.—l am, &c., •Justice.
