The Daily Chronicle's correspondent has visited the White Pass of the Klondike. He states that 7000 men and 2000 animals are blocked between the sea and the summit of the pass, a distance of 18 miles, while hundreds are arriving daily. The route is strewn with dead horses and stores. Tbe amount of gold obtained has been grossly exaggerated, there bei ngnothing to justify the rush, while the cost of working is enormous. He adds that the Pacific Coast has gone gold crazy. The New York Herald's correspondent writes in a similar strain. The Times says it is feared there will be a considerable loss of life before the craze abates.
