Bouvallot, who is in command of the French Expedition in Abyssinia, left the expedition in charge of the Marquis de Boucbamp, and reached Didosia, on the White Nile, in a westerly direction from Abyssinia. Through the influence of King MeueItk he was assisted in his travels by Galla chiefs, and thereby experienced little dii'ticuity in his mission. The Paris Temps says the object sought to be attained by M. Bouvallot is to establish French ,interests solidly on the left bank of the White Nile, and to facilitate French trading operations by the Übango route.
