TRESPASSING ON A TROTTING COURSE. FINES INFLICTED. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Christchukch, This day. At the S.M. Court to-day two bookmakers, Messrs Chamberlain and Shortlander, were fined £2 and costs for trespassing on the Canterbury Trotting Club's ground on the occasion of the recent races. The latter stated he was not a bookmaker but an importer of furs. Seventeen others have been charged with a similar ofi'ence and the cases are proceeding.
