240 BURWOOD MINERS LEAVE WORK.
OYER THE PAYMENT OF BOY LABOR,
PLAYING A WAITING GAME AT THE LUCKNOW MINE. (Per Press Association. —Copyriyht.) Sydney, This day. Because two lads emploj'ed as wheelers were paid a little less than the regulation wage the wheelers at Burwood colliery have struck, throwing 210 men out of work. The management contemplate closing down altogether. The strike at Luc-know has resolved itself into a waiting game. Both sides are confident of victory. The manager, while admitting that he has not yet engaged any practical miners f>as taken 011 sufficient men for the present requirements of the mines.
