The Awarua Election.
MR JELLICOE'S CONTENTION. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This Day. The grounds on which Mr Jellicoe's opinion re the Awarua se >.t are based are that Mr Ward's disqualification was complete before the election took place and before a single vote was recorded at the election. There was sufficient knowledge that the disqualification was brought home to the electors who constituted the majority, and their votes were thrown away. Mr Cowan, though numerically in the minority, was therefore entitled to the seat.
