SPORTING NEWS.

BICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, This day. Very little work of interest was done at Biccarton this morning. With the exception of Ilex, Dundonald, and Ulster all the Grand National Hurdles and Steeplechase candidates are at head quarters. Dromedary, Nat, and Flirt are the latest to appear and they were each given light tasks. With the exception of Te Ivooti all the others were out, the strongest work being apportioned to The Friar, Levanter, Tallyho, and Highlander, the latter doing a four mile sweat. Misfire alone jumped the hurdles, afterwards galloping two rounds strongly. Dentist, Umslopogaas and Monte Carlo each did strong work. The latter jumped the schooling hurdles yesterday afternoon. Don Joseph was sore after Lis work yesterday. Yoltigeur was sent once round slowly, brushing along the last part of the second circuit.
