j_Uv Ti-I.KfrliAi'i!. j (I'er I'rrx.s A--si Nai'See, This I 'ay. A rather peculiar incident occurred at the Magistraie':; Court yesterday. Two young men named Thomas Roberts and -James Gould, two characters well known to the police under various names, were charged as rogues and vagabonds before two Justices. After hearing lengthy evidence the Bench failed to agree and decided to refer the matter to the Magistrate. On the Court resuming Mr Turnbull, S.M., pointed out that the case must be heard and determined by the Justices who sat. If, however, they failed to come to an understanding they can call in a third Justice and take evidence again. The accused were remanded till Monday.
