[By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Auckland, This day. A deputation representing tbe Australian Institute of Marine Engineers waited on the Hon. W. Hall-Jones and urged the necessity that only competent mechanics be allowed in charge of vessels with auxiliary oil engines, which they urged were to a certain extent dangerous and "rattiired careful attention. It was a source of great danger to the inexperienced men in charge. The Minister said he would take every care that only competent men who had passed their examination were employed.
