[By Gipsy Grand.] The Y.R.C. Grand National Steeplechase with 13 starters is run this afternoon. I look to Vigil or Timoni to supply the winner. The Auckland hurdler Aughadowey has been destroyed. Nineteen of the N.Z. Cup candidates are by Musket sires. Bombshell has been alloted 6st 71b for the Manchester Cup. Euroclydon is the only horse carrying over weight for age in the N.Z. Cup and Day Star the only one on the w.f.a. mark. Golden Fleece changed hands in Adelaide the other day at £4O. Alarkinch ran unplaced at Kensington on June 24th WELLINGTON STEEPLECHASE MEETING. Mauser and Sir Agnes led to the straight when Kalmea caught them and won comfortably by a length. Time, lrain 23secs. Div., ss. The Stewards are an enquiry into Kalmea s running on 'W ed nesdav. Tally-ho and Flirt led for a round and aquarter, when Tally-ho fell, and The Friar, who had been lying third, went to the front and won easily by six lengths.
