THE QUEEN'S PARK.
[To the Editor.] Sib, I entirely agree with the letters that have appeared in your valuable paper as to the suitability of the Qfieen's Park for a recreation ground. I have fully inspected the whole property and have carefully considered all the advantages it offers as a suitable and convenient ground for the public of Hastings. I therefor give my unbiased opinion that is it not only a first-class place for a recreation ground offering special advantages, but I consider the property as a whole a really good investment. The liquid assets from the sale of sections not required, together with the disposal of imber that would have to be thinned out for walks and drives, would at once return a considerable revenue. The argument about distance is " bosb, every resident does not live two miles from the Park, the average distance is not even a mile. Potter's Paddock outside Auckland (a famous athletic ground) is four miles from the city. The "cabbies" would convey any number to the Queen's Park for 6d a head and less. —I am. «tc., Straight Tip.
