A Pleasant Reunion.

WELCOME TO REV. A. S. AND MRS MORRISON. A very pleasant reunion took place at the Presbyterian Church last evening, when the Rev. A. S. Morrison's congregation assembled to welcome both him and his bride. Mrs Morrison, who is an M.A. of Dunedin University, has scarcely been here a week, but she has already won golden opinions from all who have had the pleasure of meeting her. Mr Hugh Campbell occupied the chair, and the evening was spent in addresses and various vocal and instrumental items. The Rev. Mr Findlay, of Havelock, in the course of a humorous address, spoke some very homely truths as to the manner in which they should treat tbeir minister's wife, concluding by wishing Mr and Mrs.Morrison long life and happiness. Mrs Price and Mrs Johnson contributed the vocal part of the entertainment, Mrs Johnson being so particularly successful in her song "Tired" that she was specially requested to contribute " The Holy City," which was received with marked approbation. The band, under Mr Barrett, consisting of Messrs Barrett and Newman (cornets) Peters (tenor), Bennett (trombone), and Marbrook (bass) played some good pieces, and the choir, conducted by Mr King, rendered some pleasing hymns, although the voices were much over-balanced by the bass instruments. The tenors were below par and the basses were weak. % Mr Mossman, on of the congregation, presented Mr Sad Mrs Morrison with a handsome clock and a sideboard, for which Mr Morrison returned thanks. The several accompaniments were played by Miss Joll very effectively. In the course of the evening refreshments were handed round by the ladies of the congregation to which full justice was done. A vote of thanks to the ladies, proposed by Mr Mossman, and'thebenediction by Mr Morrison, concluded the reunion.
