[By Gii-sy Grand.] There are 50 horses nominated for the Melbourne Cup who descend from Musket. The sires represented aer : —Trenton, Carbine, Martini - Henry, Escutcheon, Tranter, Enfilade, Hotchkiss, Nordenfeldt, Thunderbolt, Strathmore, Musk Rose, and Jacinth. Over 20 are by Trenton and a dozen by Carbine. Bonnie Blue was sent to "Wellington this morning by the express train. Cochrane went south this morning, having received an engagement in Clarke's stable at the Hutt. He will ride Umslopogaas, Sea Serpent and Huntington in future engagements. Cochrane has also been engaged to ride Te Kooti in the Grand National Steeplechase. At Auckland 2000 to 50 has been taken about Antares for the N.Z. Cup. NEW ZEALAND CUP WEIGHTS.
