Supreme Court Sittings.
[By Telegraph.] (P*/' Press Association.) Tj.maru, This day. The Supreme Court opened this morning with a heavier calendar than usual, but his Honor told the Grand Jury the cases were all simple ones. Muuro John Douglas, employe in the Bank of New Zealand, Ashburton, pleaded guily to stealing three sums of money of the bank, £165 in all, and was sentenced to four months. He was afterwards recalled, and admitted to 12 months' probation and ordered to pay £lO towards costs. William Scobie and John Findlay, two cxBurnham boys with previous convictions, pleaded guilty to three charges of horse stealing and housebreaking, and were sentenced to two years each. H. Kee, aged 14, pleaded guilty to the theft of a bicycle from Oamaru. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. The Court was occupied all the afternoon with the case against Harry Knight, charged with breaking into a dwelling house at W&imate and stealings £6O. He was found guilty and sentenced to three years' imprisonment.
