A lengthy cable has been received from Mr Seddon, chiefly describing his movements during the past week, but referring particularly to the enquiries he is making re the produce trade.

He intends paying another visit to Manchester, which he considers offers special advantages as a market. At all the places he visited the Premier found a friendly feeling existed, especially toward New Zealand. Mr Seddon reports that he hopes to arrange a reduction in frozen meat freights of one-sixteenth of a penny per lb,
