COLONIAL PREMIERS AT HOME

The colonial Premiers, as guests of the Empire Trade League, visited Manchester and inspected the ship canal. In the course of a speech the Hon. C. C. Kingston said the present political connection between England and the colonies was ample. The colonies, however, expected Englaud to accept their produce in preference to foreign, and were prepared to accord reciprocal treatment. The Bishop of Manchester joined in a cordial welcome to the Premiers,and said he saw a splendid promise of a colonial commonwealth.
Mr Seddon proposes that the Premiers shall take joint action with regard to pushing the sale of colonial frozen meat in the provincial centres of Great Britain.
Sir H. Nelson is negotiating for the renewal of an amended agreement with respect to British New Guinea.
