In the appeal from the decision of the Registrar of Patents rejecting the application of the Cassell Gold Extracting Company for leave to amend its specifications, Judge Edwards said it was comj etent for the appellants in their specifications to claim as they did the use of cyanogen, whether in its free state or by direct application of any cyanogen-yielding substances, and it was no more necessary for them to set a chemical equivalent to each of such substances than it was to set out the process by which frGe cyanogen can be produced. They did not seek to extend but to reduce the strength of the solution. The appeal was upheld, and the amount must be allowed.
