Several other drought-stricken districts in the south and west report that creeks and springs have mysteriously commenced running. The Mayor of Sydney has accepted an offer of 500 sheep from the Pastoral Finauce Co. to provide Jubilee dinners for the poor. Brisbane, This day. Divers have located the damage on the steamer Devonshire. It consists of two large holes in the side caused by the vessel striking an unknown rock. The steamer has been floated into shallower water, the cargo being discharged. Hobart, This day. Severe shocks of earthquake have been experienced at Eddystone. Houses rocked, but no serious damage is reported.
