CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY. Association.—Qvi»j)i<jht.) Sydney, This day. Zhe Intercolonial Conference of Chambers of Commerce opened to-day. The mayor welcomed the delegates in the Town Hall yesterday. The speakers urged the necessity and benefit to Australia of commercial federation. Mr Johnston, New Zealand, said his colony was at present somewhat outside of federation, bat with regard to shipping, insurance and other matters the conference had to 4 deal with it might well join hands with Australia.
