THE RELIEF FUND, Mr J. Collinge begs to acknowledge with thanks the following subscriptions to the relief fund : —Heretaanga Masons, £5 5s ; Canon St. Hill £5 ; " A Friend," £1 ; Mr C. Beharrell, 10s; Mr and Mrs Guthrie, ss; Mr and R. Kearns, 3s each; W. Leigh, M. Stonestreet, ''A W T Price, C. T-imms, T. H. Bargrove, 2s 6d each ; Mr flPWrs Golding and R. Harper, 2s each ; Mrs Webb, H. Webb, W. Webb, J. Taylor, Alice Taylor, and Mrs Dunn, Is each. At a public meeting at Geraldine to discuss the Hawke's Bay Relief Fund, £ls was subscribed in the room. The Christchurch Committee has arranged for a sports meeting on a large scale on May 24 on behalf of the fund. Close upon £4OO has already been subscribed at Christchurch. The Lyttelton Times states that Mrs Charles Gordon, of Hastings, Hawke's Bay, went north by the Tasmania on Wednesday, and took with her two large cases of clothing, the money for the purchase of which had been subscribed by friends. The articles will be distributed'by the rectors of Farndon and West Clive. Wanganui is promoting a floral fete in aid of the fund. An entertainment at Palmerston realised £2B for the fund. A first instalment of £4OO from Auckland has been received. The sports promoted by the Napier Wanderers Bicycle Club and Hawke's Bay Amateur Athletic Club, to 'be held on the 12th inst, promises to be a great success. The management is leaving no stone unturned to make the affair worthy of the occasion. Williams, £5; Children Port School, £4 15s; High School, masters and boys, £4 ; Telegraph list (additional), £4 ; Children Makotuku District School, £3 2s ; I. Thornton, £2 2s ; E. R. St. Patrick's and St. Mary's, Napier, church collections on Sunday totalled £29 3s 6d in aid of the flood fund. (Per Press Association.) Timaeu, This day. The South Canterbury Jockey Club voted ten guineas to the Hawke's Bay flood fund. The Mayor's fund amounts to £7O odd, apart from this.
