GENERAL ITEMS. (Per Press Association. < 'ojiyriy/it.) Sydney, April 27. Sir Charles Lilley, once Chief Justice of Queensland, has been admitted to practice at the-New South Wales bar. Negotiations have been completed, by which M'llwrath, M'Eachern and Co. take over all interests and charter contracts of the Intercolonial Steamship Company. The body of Sulivan, one of the men drowned in the sewer accident, has been recovered floating in the harbor. Parliament opened to-day with the usual ceremonies. The debate on the Address-in-Reply is proceeding. Melbourne, April 29. An immense steel tunnel to connect the North and South Melbourne sewerage system across the Yarra, 800 ft. long and weighing H 7 tons, collapsed while being lowered. Hobabt, This day. Steady rain is falling throughout the colony which has broken up the drought.
