THE GRECO-TURKISH WAR.

THE FIGHT AT REVENE PASS. MURDEROUS FIGHTING. THE GREEKS IN FULL ROUT. 1000 DEAD AND WOUNDED LEFT ON THE FIELD. AN OLD WARRIOR DIES IN THE SADDLE. (Peas Association.—Copyright) Athens, April 20. The Greeks have recaptured Gritsoveli, in the vicinity of Malaria Pass. The Turks renewed the attack on Revene Pass and penetrated the entrenchments for a distance of 100 yards. The Greeks offered a desperate resistance, and the fighting was of the bitterest character, the carnage being frightful. The Duke of Sparta, who at the outbreak of the hostilities went to the front to assume command of the Greek forces, has returned to Larissa, the chief town of Thessally. The Turks are now bombarding Ternove, in Macedonia. Latest reports from the front state that the Greeks are in full retreat on Larissa, pursued by the Turks. They are suffering terribly from the heavy artillery fire directed upon them by their pursuers. The Turkish soldiers are highly elated with their success, and are singing and laughing like children. The Greeks left 1000 dead and wounded on the field. Hafiz Pasha, who was 80 years of age, and took part in the Russo-Tur-kish war, was leading the Turkish attack at Maluna, when he was killed. An orderly suggested that he should dismount, but he replied, " I never dismounted during the Russian war." Before he received his death wound he was twice struck by bullets, in the left arm aud right hand, but despite the wounds he insisted on retaining command of the attack until a fatal bullet struck him in the month and killed him instantaneously.

Fighting has been renewed at Tirnova, where the Turkish artillery silenced the Greek batteries and compelled the Greeks to evacuate the town.
