This day. The statement that Phillips has been committed for twenty years proves to be premature. It has transpired that the Cabinet considered the case yesterday, but it was decided, owing to the absence of two Ministers, to postpone the decision for a week. Sydney, This day. Unprecedented dry weather prevails throughout the country, and in many districts water is running short and stock and crops are sufferiug. News from the East is to the e fleet that the Spaniards are unable to keep down the rebellion in the Phillipines, and are asking for 8000 additional troops. Large numbers of the native troops are joining the rebels, who have plentiful supplies of firearms. Perth, This day.
